Ingredients

Salmon
  • 4 fillets salmon skin-on or skinless
Orange Glaze
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice about 2-3 oranges
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce low sodium preferred
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest freshly grated
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon of water
Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for frying

Method

Prepare the Orange Glaze
  1. In a small saucepan, combine orange juice, honey, soy sauce, and orange zest. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  2. Once simmering, stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.
Cook the Salmon
  1. Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the salmon fillets skin-side down.
  3. Cook for about 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until cooked through.
  4. Pour the orange glaze over the salmon during the last minute of cooking.
Serve
  1. Remove the salmon from the skillet and serve immediately, drizzled with extra orange glaze if desired.
