Ingredients

Pasta and Beef
  • 12 oz bowtie pasta or farfalle
  • 1 lb ground beef 80% lean recommended
Sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper to taste
Garnish
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped for garnish

Method

Cook the Pasta
  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the bowtie pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
Prepare the Beef
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Drain excess fat if necessary.
Make the Sauce
  1. Add minced garlic to the skillet with the beef and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  2. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in the Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook until the sauce thickens slightly, about 3-5 minutes.
Combine and Serve
  1. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water as needed to reach desired consistency.
  2. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

For a lighter version, you can substitute ground turkey for the beef and use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
